Citibank is one of the most corrupt banks in the country. They literally changed my address in their system (after 6 months of paying 6x the min.) on my interest free Home Depot purchase. When I finally did get this all figured out (end-of-year accounting audit), they [Citi] had added a huge interest and penalty fine. As the poster above mentioned, they refuse to admit responsibility, nor negotiate settlement. Their stance is "tough, pay up or your credit will be effected!"

My response to Citi ... "KISS MY A$$!"

I will not pay these lying thieves and since I've OPTED-OUT of the whole CREDIT-FICA scam, they can eat cake!

The only reason these scumbag companies get away with this crap is because most people don't have the guts to tell them 'it's either my way or the highway'.

I had one of those accounts with Home Depot with deferred payments for one year but to include all accumulated interest at a huge percentage rate if not paid within the year. Well, although fully paid prior to one year, the bank being Citibank messed up and billed me over $100. 00.

I went to Home Depot since it is their Home Depot credit card under Citibank. The customer relations accounts person called and got Citi to correct their error and we were no longer billed for it. However, this did show up on a recent credit report fully erroneously as a late payoff.

The Citi person failed to do a complete and thorough job of expunging the erroneous charge from our credit history with the three agencies issuing those reports. It was so easy to charge us and send that so-called delinquency to the credit agencies but not done when the error was shown to be Citibank's own error. Just wrong and absolutely unfair!

I was unaware of this until today. But thanks to you for letting me know about this. I have never anything like that though but it is always good to be aware in these matters specially when it is your credit report.
